this is one of the best strategy games i have ever played in my life. It is deep, stylish, innovativ, and much fun to play like chess with tanks.
I also have Bulge, Moscow and now Desert Fox and i realy enjoyed them all. Best Strategy series.

Just finished my first campaign. With all of the new tweaks, this is the most fun to play of series to date. Great work. It was worth the wait.

This game is an excellent sequel to “Battle of the Bulge” and “Drive on Moscow”. The new supply rules and the addition of minefields make this a fresh experience, quite a different feel than the earlier games. Between the two sides, the three scenarios, the different AI opponents, and the multiplayer support there is huge replay ability. Highly recommended!
Nearly perfect series from Shenandoah Studios and this third one has all the user interface polish, superb strategic design, historical simulation and streamlined multiplayer experience of its previous 2 games. Well done
Some bad moments
To random to be a good strategy game. Unclear rules regarding unit strength, random resuply and battle outcome makes it impossible to plan anything.
If this release had been only just as good as the initial releases of Bulge and Moscow, I would have been ecstatic. But rather than just take the previous designs and mix with sand in the treads, the developers continue to evolve the system to new design heights. The new Supply rules alone will make veterans of the previous two fronts realize they’re raw recruits again in North Africa. For me, Desert Fox is the best of the trilogy - and absolutely not one to miss.
The changes in this game from the previous titles are great and bring a whole new level of strategy. I love it
I’m not a war-gamer expert at all but I found this deep yet easy to learn. The tutorials are not very smooth but still useful. Desert Fox continues the very high quality of the Crisis in Command series but also includes new gameplay features and structures that produce a very different experience from the first two and are not just superficial. The AI seems better than the first two though it is still flawed at the lowest level, and too slow at the highest. But all these games are really meant to be played vs humans not the AI.
Battle of the Bulge? Bold and beautiful. Drive on Moscow? Brash, and yes, even brilliant. Ive played them both many dozens of times and enjoyed every minute. Desert Fox... well, its a bit of a snore.
Dont get me wrong, this is a wonderfully well crafted effort. The mechanics are fluid, the game plays smoothly and it is indeed lovely to look at. But in the end, I find myself yawning. (And, I admit, the whole Refit vs Offensive machination leaves me cold.)
Its sort of like building a game about the German invasion of France but only doing the part after Dunkirk. Why bother?
When I think of how engaging it would have been to play the WWII African campaign from start to finish with Rommel desperately driving on Alexandria before Malta can tighten its deadly strangle hold and Commonwealth forces build up their inevitable overwhelming strength - I just cant help wishing Shenandoah had rethought the games basic premise.
Good effort over all, but a fatally flawed concept. Looking forward to their next.
Ive been a wargamer for over four decades and am a former Armor officer. This game brings back very fond memories of Avalon Hills "Afrika Korps" and the phenomenal "Tobruk". The execution is simply outstanding and the level of realism re: supply and the fluid, unpredictable nature of the war in North Africa make this the most addictive of Shenandoah Studios games to date. My wish list: France 1940, Stalingrad, Kursk, and Guadalcanal.
